Explanation of Express Fees
Express fees are added as an option to shorten review times for projects that are required to be submitted for plan check review and cannot be done over the counter. However, if submitting to only one department the City has a modified express fee and this estimate would then not apply. Express fees are an additional one half of the plan check fee amount in addition to a $585.16 administration fee. This cuts most review times in half. For most projects, the structural department review time goes from 20 working days
to 10 working days. For most projects, the mechanical and electrical departments go from 12 working days to 6 working days. Not all departments offer the express review
option.
